Crabbie's Original Alchohoholic GINGER BEER

aka a fine aphrodisiac

Although the life span of this particular beer was sadly and tragically cut short

it will soon be reincarnated because the little taste of heaven that we had was

enough of a promise of perfection to look for more. In the meantime, it can rest on its laurels as the first ginger beer I have ever liked.

Geographically Confused Beer Part 1 of 1

Holland Bavarian

Brewed with Pride Somewhere Between

Holland, Germany, and Switzerland

We are not Sure. But I will Claim It as DUTCH

and Drink this fine fellow brewed by a Family

of Bavarian Dutch Folk.

Beyond my eyes being open to other Dedutch beer besides de Heineken,

this specimen of a summer beer was quite a DElight.

Heel Lekker! I exclaimed, Proffering the explanation that that is Dutch for

"Dis is vary gooed! But we should remove the Bavarians!"

Makes sense to me I say. It sparkles nicely, quite similar to the effect of rainbow streamers in birch trees. BUT note, this dutch beer does not go well with cupcakes. Veggie Dog approved though.

Brown Ale Beer

Yeah, Asian beers were the idea of the night. The beer I landed with: Brown Ale, it was amber.
Brown Ale beer was weird, the first taste was cool but then WHOA it got weird when the beer reached the back of my tongue. Tasted like I just licked my finger after getting earwax on it, or like when you eat a mosquito or maybe just even accidently swallowing bug repellent. I suppose i did not LOVE this beer. I would like to say that the bottle was neat-o.

Pinker's Organic
Pinker would be a cool last name to have, if my last name were Pinker I would brand something with it. Wait, already done. Pinker's organic is a thing, a beer to be exact, and to be even more exact, a refreshing lemon-orangy tasting treat that would be great on a summer afternoon in the sun. The taste was good, but maybe it mellowed out just a little bit too quickly for the palettes of Alma and Andrea. WE NEED SOMETHING THAT REALLY SHMECKS. For that reason, Pinkers Organic was not a number one choice.
If I were a beer I would like my name to be Pinker, but I would not want to be as subtle as this dapper gent.

Mississippissippissi Mud
BLACK & TAN

So they call it black and tan for a reason. Because its a dark beer and a light beer COMBINED! This blew my mind. Well, not really. But things did click in the ol' noggin, that's fer sure. The first sip was startling, I recall, for we were both under the impression that this beer would be thick and potent. Real MOON-SHINE like. Nay, not Moon Shine, what a misleading packaging design.
We move on from the initial shock of a lack of potency and decide that this beer is excellent. Yes, excellent.

"A mature tongue englufer"

It was a rich beer, with subtle after-notes, mostly attributed to the black and tan mixture. This beer would be great on an Autumn afternoon, a settling down kind of beer for a settling down kind of time (settling down for winter, not for children). With every sip being a little bit different from the last, Mississippi Mud Black & Tan was a real crowd pleaser amongst Alma and Andrea. AND WHAT A CROWD WE ARE!

Kokaneee : Because I told Andrea I would.

Its ok. Tastes good with sweet onion cakes. Don't drink before 1 am.

Note, that this is post doesn't fulfill the typical requirements of this blog and the stringent tasting techniques weren't followed. But this will have to suffice while we wait for Andrea to unveil our next four reviews. Perhaps we will assume that she is merely out researching.

The United Kingdom makes a good beer, and when they go the organic root they yield a tasty brew. It was a hot summer afternoon that we, Dear Reader, took our first sip. Immediate reaction - delight! It was as if little tiny cats were dancing on my tongue, "It's ALIVE!" exclaimed Alma. There were sweet after-notes of creamy apricot that lingered in the mouth; the taste was not an overpowering of the palette sensation. We agree that this is a great beer for any Spring afternoon, fir this bodiful amber ale.

I was lured in by the packaging, which suggested honey, lightness, and bumblebees!

The first taste was somewhat disappointing because I was still expecting a honey beer. In actuality it was quite bitter. My expectations dashed, I drank on. But once I got over the initial letdown, Bodington provided a subtle and creamy flavour. It mellows quite quickly and the carbonation settles at the back of the mouth; it fit quite nicely with the warm spring day that it was. But too bitter to drink in the sunshine.
